Forney ISD will be closed Thursday, Jan. 9 out of an abundance of caution. Check out our video announcement here.

With the current National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning for Kaufman County starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow with predictions of snow, sleet, ice, and temperatures hovering around freezing all day, Forney ISD made the decision to close with staff and student safety as a top priority.

Students will not need to make up this day in the future.

After-school and evening activities will also be cancelled. Coaches and sponsors will be in contact with students and their families.

OC businesses may have different hours, delays or closings. Please check their individual websites or social media for updates on specific businesses.
