City wants public input on proposed bridges
In the November 2022 election, Forney voters approved Proposition E, allocating $52.7 million for road and infrastructure upgrades. These projects include the expansion of Lovers Lane, a connection between FM 548 and Monitor Boulevard, an extension of Community Park Road, and a potential grade separation (bridge) over the railroad tracks.
To determine the feasibility of a bridge over the railroad tracks, the City of Forney in partnership with WSB Engineering, conducted a study to determine the feasibility of a bridge over the railroad tracks. Based on this study, the city has identified five potential locations for the new
bridge: Far West, Pinson Avenue, Oak Street, Chestnut Street, and Far East.
To share more details about this project and gather valuable community input, the City of Forney will host an open house on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Forney City Hall Annex (101 E. Main St., Council Chambers). Residents are encouraged to attend and provide feedback.
If you’re unable to attend the open house, an online survey will be available to gather your input.
